Are you limiting the amount of characters per house per gender?

The only caps we have in place right now is on twins. Otherwise we are completely open! So, no!

Feel free to apply at any time! There have not been major changes in the application, but I would check to make sure. We look forward to reading your application!

Thanks! Also, I've changed my mind about apping, but I have a friend who is very interested in picking up Gryffyn for me. He and I have similar writing styles, and I've told him all I know about the character. Is it okay if he picks it up? If not, he has another character he's working on he could bring in.

They are free to apply, but only if they are completely sure that Gryffyn is a character they are invested in. If they feel that Gryffyn is a character that they can really get into, then go for it. However, it can be more difficult to play a character that someone else created.

And as long as you are sure you are willing to give him up.

I'm intrigued by the game, particularly in playing a warlock, but I'm not sure how their powers work. I gathered that they're more ritual-based than others. Do they have the kind of specialization that a mage or witch has?

A warlock is generally a jack of all trades, a master of none. They don't have the specialization that mages and witches have, as in, there are no warlocks that are master poton makers, but can't read a rune to save their lives, or vice versa. However, if a warlock works more on a certain aspect of their powers, then that aspect will obviously become stronger and easier to use/handle.

So, in general, no. But there if you felt your character was the type to be more interested in a certain area, then feel free to make them more proficient in that area. They would still have a working knowledge of the other parts, however.

At what age do witches start seeing their powers? And does the school recruit them, or do the students and their families find the school?

It varies a little with each person, however it is generally around puberty. But there could have been little power surges starting at a very young age. They would have next to no control over it at that point. And the school sends out letters when they turn 11 or their first birthday after their power manifests.

Hopefully that answered your questions!
